The next program and possibly one of the best is the point program. These programs work by allotting an owner a number of points annually that is directly proportional to their level of ownership in a timeshare. These points can later be used to make travel arrangements with the resort group that is providing the points or select free weeks at any of the resorts selection of timeshares. This program offers a great variety and often times is simply a free bonus to those who support the resort the most buy purchasing the most time. Usually those points can be used to buy whole weeks or even parts of a week at any of the timeshares owned by the resort. Timeshares and point cost are determined by formula that takes popularity of the timeshare, specific days requested, length of visit, popularity of the season and size accommodations into account.

Along with those two main benefit programs a plethora of other rewards and point based programs exist that change depending on the agency your purchase your timeshare from. There are many point based programs that exist that offer discounts or free weeks at your timeshare. They may also offer vouchers for free meals or spa treatments. The world of rewards programs is almost as large as the timeshare industry itself and it's always important to ask your timeshare agency about any rewards programs of benefits you may be entitled to before or even after purchasing your timeshare. Who knows, you may be missing out on free vacations and you don't even know it. Make sure to check and take advantage of even the smallest benefit programs to get the most out of your timeshare.
